Celtic Woman our organizers have added an additional months of dates for the tour that has been ongoing since February. The ensemble performance outing features five woman Irish vocalists.

The group features the vocalists Mairead Nesbitt, Orla Fallon, Meav Ni Mhaolchatha, Lisa Kelly, Chloe Agnew and Hayley Westenra, who recently joined the ensemble. They will be kicking off their tour in Tampa on February 14. They will next be on stage in Little Rock, AR on Wednesday April 25.

With the additional dates added to the tour, the total run is almost 70 shows now.

The idea for the Celtic Woman Tour came from Dave Kavanagh and Sharon Browne of an independent record label based in Ireland called Celtic Collections, Ltd. According to Celtic Woman’s website, Browne and Kavanagh, along with David Downes the musical director, came up with the idea for the tour in order to showcase talented Irish female performers and singers.

In January Celtic Woman released their new studio album entitled “A New Journey.” The set mixes contemporary hits (“Over the Rainbow,” “Scarborough Fair,” “The Prayer” and “Beyond the Sea”) with classical favorites (“Vivaldi’s Rain” and “Lascia Ch’io Pianga”) along with Irish standards (“Mo Ghile Mear,” “Caledonia,” “At the Ceili,” and “Dulaman”). The album debuted in the No. 4 spot on Billboard’s 200 chart.
